As your coach, Chew Yin will provide you with an environment in which you can discover your own solutions and hear your own voice. The process is designed for anyone at any stage in life, enabling personal developments that let you confidently move towards who – and where – you want to be tomorrow. Through this process, you will learn how to define your goals and design the strategy required to convert them into tangible, real-life outcomes. Chew Yin will support your emotional and physical well-being throughout the course of your journey.

What to expect

At the start of the process, you will re-evaluate and align with your core values – the ones that are true for you right now. By focusing on the future, you will then identify the areas in your personal or professional life that you want to improve – and reveal the goals, or life events, you ultimately wish for.

Chew Yin will guide you through the stepping stones towards setting goals that will enable you to reach your highest potential. It can be surprising what slows you down. You may learn that changing perspective removes a limiting belief, or that you haven’t created your optimal environment yet. Sometimes you may just need a simple strategy to get to where you want to be.

Through reflective learning, you will develop the tools you need and become more aware of your transferable skills. Chew Yin believes that life is about creating opportunities that move you forward, which in itself is a life skill that matures over time. She encourages reflective learning because it creates self-awareness and self-discipline which facilitates personal growth and promotes mental wellbeing.

The perspectives and methodologies of life coaching can lead to transformational results in your behaviours and attitudes – you might notice a shift in some of your day-to-day relationships too.

I didn't know what to expect from life coaching. I've had therapy and a few different practitioners over the years (CBT) and knew this would be different but didn't know how.

I've had an interesting and amazing journey. I've got a lot out of every session and it really is very different to therapy (CBT). There's a range of contributing factors that have made it so good for me. One is getting suggestions and discussions that are actually different from what others have offered - feeling heard and receiving actual practical suggestions. It's deepening my understanding of how I work and my limitations (and self-limiting). It's things like looking at the whole picture holistically (with integral knock-on effects) and not segmenting areas of life, like work vs. relationships. It's seeing all of these areas and their challenges as a part of me - all of me -  interrelated rather than in a traditional/ typical (psychological) way. And keeping the focus on the things it's easy to push aside.

With my personality, having someone like Chew who is like-minded in a spiritual way, and who understands some of those modalities, really adds to the impact the sessions have because on top of it being "my language" it is easy to relate to how I view the world. Of course, for me, the shared cultural background is really great, especially after growing up feeling and being culturally isolated.

After an exciting, impactful, and invaluable series of sessions, I have to keep doing the work.

Following on from my coaching sessions with Chew I realised how much of a mental loop I get myself into, and how useful it was to be able to voice out thoughts and see things objectively. I also noticed certain patterns in my behaviour that I hadn’t noticed on my own, but with regular check-ins, it became evident when I lost sight and when I was focused.

I was in a foreign country and had lost my job. As Kismet would have it, my path crossed with Chew through a beautiful friend of ours. Of course, there was an immediate connection.

We talked about some personal issues, she saw that I was in flux and offered her life coaching services. I called the next day, and we began a Five-week of life coaching session. It's not that she told me what to do, but her technique was such that she allowed my mind to work in a way that made it easy for me to formulate what I really wanted and how I was going to go about getting that.
